On the Water

Cornwall is renowned for its coast. The Roseland positioned uniquely “Between River and Sea” offers opportunities to explore both inland and on coastal water.

Importantly Trewince has its own quay (with pedestrian access only). It is possible for smaller boats to be launched from the slipway by hand. (Check with Trewince prior to your stay, charges may apply).

For boats up to 20ft we recommend launching on the river at Percuil near to Trewince. Trewince Quay leads out into the Fal Estuary which feeds into the Carrick Roads. This is an expansive waterway which forms a large natural harbour between the Roseland and Falmouth. As the third largest natural harbour in the world this area has long been a strategic waterway. It was first fortified by Henry VIII in 1540 with the building of both Pendennis and St Mawes castles.

If you fancy kayaking, sailing, surfing, or if you just want to sit back and relax on a river cruise, there is something on the water for everyone both on the Roseland and in the surrounding area.
