Poldark Series 2 – Filming Under Way

Poldark crew return to Cornwall for series two filming

By The Cornishman | Posted: September 12, 2015

THE cast and crew of Poldark have returned to the Duchy to start filming the second series of the iconic BBC Cornish drama.Work began this week just two weeks after it was reported that a deal worth an estimated £50 million had been agreed which will see the remake of the Seventies’ series remain on TV screens until 2020.

Film crews have been spotted transforming locations such as Botallack mine and Nampara, Poldark’s cottage in St Breward.

The popular series won Best New Drama at Monday night’s TV Choice Awards in London and was also nominated for Best Drama overall. Poldark actor Aiden Turner and his co-star Eleanor Tomlinson, who plays Demelza Poldark, were also nominated for Best Actor and Actress respectively.

Fans across Cornwall took to social media to convey their excitement that approximately six months of filming in Cornwall and Bristol has begun.

Season two is set to have ten episodes, two more than the first series which aired at the start of the year. The first series amassed an average of 8.1 million viewers.

A30 Temple update

Road improvement scheme

Statistics are showing that there is no increased delays on the A30 due to the road works at Temple, in fact there is slight improvement on 2014. This is great news and most importantly we are keen to communicate the following messages to our visitors:

1. Next summer there will be two lanes open each way with some speed restrictions. That means road conditions will be greatly improved in 2016…and by 2017 it will be all complete!

2. Consider staggering journey times to avoid travelling between 11am and 5pm on Friday’s and Saturday’s or by using the A38 through Plymouth
