Marking the beginning of winter, a one day celebration in St Austell, the china clay capital of Cornwall. Live bands, stalls, music and dance and the Torchlight Carnival parades through the town.
St. Austell comes alive for the celebrations with a whole day of entertainment throughout the town, with live bands, stalls, music and dance and as it gets darker, the tremendous spectacle of the Torchlight Carnival parades through the town.

Probus YFC Charity Fireworks Display 2016 in aid of St Petroc’s Society and Children’s Hospice Southwest.
This year the bonfire and fireworks display will be held on Friday 4th November, gates open at 7.00pm-fire to be lite soon after, fireworks at 8.00pm.
The field will be across the road from last year’s venue (behind the doctor surgery) and clearly signposted from the bypass and the village centre.
Entry prices will be £4 adults, £3 under 16s and FREE for under 5s.
Refreshments will be available.

Just a few days after new episodes of Poldark hit the airways, the BBC has revealed the show’s stars Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson are in Cornwall filming series for series three. The second series of the eighteenth century set drama got under way 2 weeks ago, attracting more than five million viewers and huge critical acclaim.
A further nine new episodes have been written by Debbie Horsfield, who has adapted the renowned books of Winston Graham. Set in 1794 and Ross Poldark, played by Turner, is faced with new family, new loves and new battles, as the French revolution casts a great shadow over life in Cornwall.
